ANNA MOISEENKO

director

 

Anna Moiseenko is an award-winning filmmaker dedicated to making documentaries, web-series and commercials, revolving around technology, art and deeply personal stories. 

Her first documentary Winter, Go Away! (2012) premiered to high critical acclaim at the Locarno International Film Festival. The film went on to receive a number of prestigious film festival awards, including the Russian film critics award “Discovery of the Year," Best Film (Textura Festival), and Best Debut (Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival). 

Her subsequent documentary feature films S.P.A.R.T.A. (Russia, 2013) and Songs of Abdul (France-Russia, 2017) were also well-received at international film festivals, and achieved wide theatrical release.

Anna currently working on a full-length documentary Baikal Poach Busters and Russian episode of an international documentary animation project Draw For Change!

Anna has taken part in several directorial laboratories including Documentary In Europe (Italy), Eurasiadoc (France), Structural Constellations (Switzerland).

 

In 2014, she co-founded Cineminers, a group of independent filmmakers focused on creating quality documentaries and commercial projects with high artistic and social value.  

Anna studied journalism and marketing at the Moscow State Humanitarian University. She went on to work as a journalist in mass-media and as a copywriter for television commercials. In 2012, she graduated from the Marina Razbezhkina School of Documentary Film and Theatre (Russia).
